Phnom Penh Municipality has established and launched a first ever night market in Phnom Penh on the park in front of Unalom Pagoda on November 9, 2007 which is the date of 54th anniversary of the National Independence Day of Cambodia.The market exists of 165 stores, and vendors are allowed to sell only Khmer products, and those who implement against the regulation will be punished or ordered to move out.
From the start up to November 25, 2007, the market is opened every night, and after that it will be opened every Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.
